Education Electrical Contractor
Specializing in Schools and Universities
Today’s educational institutions require complex electrical and automation systems that are designed to enhance learning and performance. Pacific Electrical Contractors’ body of educational projects range from routine maintenance, to multi-million dollar renovations, to complete design-build from the ground up. Projects completed on educational campuses include administrative areas, classroom, corridor, auditorium, performance arts centers, gymnasiums, multi-use facilities, student recreation, workshop, art galleries, dining, and residence halls—all equipped to keep up with rapidly-changing technologies available. An additional challenge: many projects require facilities to remain fully functional and uninterrupted during the construction process.

SOU Oregon Center for the Arts
To better support Southern Oregon University’s growing theater program, and to house the Jefferson Public Radio (JPR) functions on campus, this $11.5M project included the renovation of 18,000 square feet of the existing theatre arts building, adding 15,000 square feet of additional theatre space, plus 7000 square feet of new space. A new movement studio and computer lab were added, as well as two new rehearsal studios. The existing costume shop was also enlarged. Jefferson Public Radio is Southern Oregon and Northern California’s regional public broadcasting network. JPR has been based on the SOU campus since it first began as a student-run station in the 1960’s. The new two-story addition for JPR features a performance space, eight new offices, four “on air” talk studios, three AV production rooms, support and conference spaces, and additional open office space.

Klamath Union High School
This four-year 47 million dollar renovation of KUHS included ground-up work on the original 1928 structure, the historic “Pel” Court gymnasium, as well as addition of a brand new building and performing arts center. Renovating a nearly 100 year old building wasn’t without surprises in the construction process. But our skilled team was able to stick to the timeline and budget.
